Putin’s missiles were considered the “latest weapon” in 2007 as well.

17:48, 7 Mar, 2018

EU vs Disinformation campaign fighting against pro-Kremlin disinformation referred to the coverage of Russian media on President Vladimir Putin’s statements addressed to RF Federal Council on March 1, 2018.

According to the website, the independent Russian online outlet The Insider published an analysis consisting of nine points that show in what ways Putin deceived the attendees.

Although Putin spoke about demographics, healthcare, pension and many other issues, nevertheless, Putin’s statements on the Russian “latest” military technology attracted more attention in Russian and international media.

Putin demonstrated new Russian military technologies through animated videos. One of the animated videos that demonstrated the intercontinental missile named “Sarmat” shows that the missile can reach any place in the world from Russia. Putin also mentioned that this weapon renders any missile defense system useless.

In this animated video the “latest” missiles “bomb” the state of Florida in the USA. However, soon it turned out that the animation of bombing the Florida demonstrated during Putin’s speech is identical to an animation produced eleven years ago by the Russian state TV station Channel 1(Pervy Kanal). This 11-year-old video presented Russia’s superweapon of that time, a weapon that, according to Putin, the new weapon Sarmat would now replace.

It is still unclear however, why in the animations created to demonstrate the power of Russian arms, the same missiles have been “bombing” particularly the US State of Florida for eleven years showing the same animated footage. It is known that many Russian pop stars, as well as officials have properties in Miami, and in fact, without any doubt, they often spend their vacation in Florida, which is considered the “number one target for bombing” by Russia.

It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time that Putin demonstrates, while Kremlin propaganda disseminates fake videos.
