About Us

Fact Investigation Platform (FIP.am) is an independent media outlet founded by the Union of Informed Citizens in 2016.

The legal responsibility for the materials published on the Fact Investigation Platform lies with the Union of Informed Citizens NGO. The formulations or assessments on the FIP.am website do not necessarily reflect the approaches and positions of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO and represent exclusively the views of the editorial staff of FIP.am.

FIP.am is the first and leading media outlet specialized in fact-checking journalism in Armenia.

FIP.am is aimed at exposing disinformation and manipulations by officials, official bodies and media outlets.

While preparing publications, our journalists adhere to the rules of journalistic ethics, as well as the legislation of the Republic of Armenia. We do not represent the interests of any political party or other group.

Preventing the dissemination of apparent disinformation is our journalists’ priority.

Fact Investigation Platform team does not promote, incite or justify aggressive wars, human rights violations, crimes against humanity or environment.

FIP.am does not publish materials undermining the privacy people’s lives of or the right to dignity.

Union of Informed Citizens (UIC) is the parent organization of FIP.am. UIC is aimed at raising public awareness of important issues by minimizing disinformation and its impact on public opinion and decision-making.

UIC publicly lists the funding sources for each project, including the projects that fund FIP.am.

FIP.am, in turn, publicly presents the project partners at the bottom of the website.

In 2023, Fact Investigation Platform joined the Fact-Checking Network by signing a memorandum on cooperation with partners engaged in fact-checking.

In March 2025, the Fact Investigation Platform became a member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), joining the global community that defends the high values of journalism.

Fip.am is a participant in the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI), led by Reporters Without Borders. The results of the self-assessment of our organization are publicly available on JTI’s official website.

Our Team

Hasmik Hambardzumyan

Hasmik Hambardzumyan graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of YSU, worked in various Armenian media outlets and organizations: Panorama.am MediaLab.am, Parliamentmonitoring.am, Journalists for Human Rights NGO (Forrights.am). In 2019-2021 she worked at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia as a Chief Public Relations Specialist. She participated in many international journalism exchange programs and successfully completed the Thomson Reuters Foundation journalism training courses. In 2023, she completed a media management course at the Center for Media Initiatives, and later participated in the DW Global Media Forum held in Bonn. Since May 2024, she has been working as the Editor-in-chief at the Fact Investigation Platform.

Nane Manasyan

Nane Manasyan has graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Yerevan State University, received her Master’s Degree from the Department of Turkish Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. She has been engaged in Journalism since 2014, working in the Lratvakan Radio, PanARMENIAN.Net website, Yerkir Media TV. Ms. Manasyan has been Chief Secretary of the Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia NGO in 2017-2019. She has been working at the Union of Informed Citizens NGO as a media monitoring expert since 2019. She has been working as a journalist at the Fact Investigation Platform since September 2021.

Shushan Harutyunyan

Shushan Harutyunyan has graduated from Yerevan State University, Department of Russian Philology. Starting from 2015, she worked as a translator for the news website analitik.am.
Since 2016, she has been working as a proofreader for the cultural and educational magazine “Zham” (Moscow). Ms. Harutyunyan has been working as a translator and website moderator in FIP.am since October 2016.

Gayane Markosyan

Gayane Markosyan is a multimedia journalist and a Master’s degree holder in media management.

She has over 15 years of experience in journalism and public communication.

She has collaborated with prestigious Armenian and international media organizations as a journalist, editor, consultant, as well as a communications and public relations expert.

Gayane has been recognized as a winner in reputable Armenian and international journalism competitions in different years.

Since July 2025, she has joined the Fact Investigation Platform as a Fact Checker Journalist.

Mane Khachikyan

Mane Khachikyan is a graduate of the Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University, class 2025. She is currently pursuing Master’s degree majoring in World Politics at the same faculty. She is an active participant in socio-political life.

Her areas of interest include democracy, women’s participation in politics, the interrelationship of Armenia’s domestic and foreign policies, as well as conflict resolution and peacebuilding issues.

Mane has participated and continues to participate in local and international programs and courses within the scope of her professional interests.

In June 2025, she joined the Union of Informed Citizens NGO as a Communications Coordinator.

Harutyun Saroyan

Harutyun Saroyan graduated from the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema, Department of Animation Directing.

In 2017-2018, Harutyun worked at Para TV as a cameraman. And in 2019-2020, he worked at Margasoft Corp as a video producer.

In 2020-2024, Harutyun worked at Academy Films, Boon TV, CivilNet, Infocom, Public Television Company as a cameraman, director and editor. Since August 2025, he has been working at the Union of Informed Citizens NGO as a Cameraman / Video Editor.

Aren Nahapetyan

Aren Nahapetyan has participated in up to 200 youth trainings and capacity-building projects. He is alumna of 5 long-term capacity-building schools on democracy, human rights and media literacy. Aren has been working in the Fact Investigation Platform as a journalist since he completed his military service in October 2025.
