About Us

Fact Investigation Platform (FIP.am) is an independent media outlet founded by the Union of Informed Citizens in 2016.

FIP.am is the first and leading media outlet specialized in fact-checking journalism in Armenia.

FIP.am is aimed at exposing disinformation and manipulations by officials, official bodies and media outlets.

While preparing publications, our journalists adhere to the rules of journalistic ethics, as well as the legislation of the Republic of Armenia. We do not represent the interests of any political party or other group.

Preventing the dissemination of apparent disinformation is our journalists’ priority.

Fact Investigation Platform team does not promote, incite or justify aggressive wars, human rights violations, crimes against humanity or environment.

FIP.am does not publish materials undermining the privacy people’s lives of or the right to dignity.

Union of Informed Citizens (UIC) is the parent organization of FIP.am. UIC is aimed at raising public awareness of important issues by minimizing disinformation and its impact on public opinion and decision-making.

UIC publicly lists the funding sources for each project, including the projects that fund FIP.am.

FIP.am, in turn, publicly presents the project partners at the bottom of the website.

In 2023, Fact Investigation Platform joined the Fact-Checking Network by signing a memorandum on cooperation with partners engaged in fact-checking.

Our Team

Vahe Ghukasyan

Vahe Ghukasyan holds a Master’s Degree in Oriental Studies from Scientific Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of RA. He has been working in the field of media since 2013. Mr. Ghukasyan has been writing analytical articles for Union of Informed Citizens NGO since 2015. His articles are mainly focused on foreign policy developments. He has been working as the Editor of UIC since 2016.

Arpine Hovhannisyan

Arpine Hovhannisyan holds a BA in English and Communications from the American University of Armenia. During her studies, she did a practicum in a number of media outlets. After graduation, she was admitted to Hetq Media Factory where she studied investigative journalism. She worked at RFE/RL’s Armenian Service (Radio Azatutyun) as a Social Media Manager. Arpine freelances for a number of regional media outlets, such as The Moscow Times and Eurasianet. She has been working at the Fact Investigation Platform as a journalist since January 2024.

Nane Manasyan

Nane Manasyan has graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Yerevan State University, received her Master’s Degree from the Department of Turkish Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. She has been engaged in Journalism since 2014, working in the Lratvakan Radio, PanARMENIAN.Net website, Yerkir Media and Armenia TVs. Ms. Manasyan has been Chief Secretary of the Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia NGO in 2017-2019. She has been working at the Union of Informed Citizens NGO as a media monitoring expert since 2019. She has been working as a journalist at the Fact Investigation Platform since September 2021.

Hasmik Hambardzumyan

Hasmik Hambardzumyan graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of YSU, worked in various Armenian media outlets and organizations: Panorama.am MediaLab.am, Parliamentmonitoring.am, Journalists for Human Rights NGO (Forrights.am). In 2019-2021 she worked at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia as a Chief Public Relations Specialist. She participated in many international journalism exchange programs and successfully completed the Thomson Reuters Foundation journalism training courses. In 2023, she completed a media management course at the Center for Media Initiatives, and later participated in the DW Global Media Forum held in Bonn. Since May 2024, she has been working as the Editor-in-chief at the Fact Investigation Platform.
