Yesterday First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan visited Gyumri to participate in festive events dedicated to the Gyumri Day.
Asked why Nikol Pashinyan did not come to Gyumri, Mirzoyan pointed to the Prime Minister’s busyness.
“Nikol Pashinyan loves Gyumri very much. He asked to pass on his love and congratulations. You know, Nikol Pashinyan returned from a several day-long business trip yesterday and there was a lot of work accumulated, and the prime minister hurried to his office. I’m sure that being physically present does not mean anything,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
On the same day, in the evening, Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the residents of Gyumri on his Facebook page saying that he just learned that it was Gyumri Day. “To be honest, I just learned that we have such a day, which means someone has not done his job properly. I’ll find him and punish him. Do not worry, my dear people of Gyumri. See you soon.”
In fact, when Ararat Mirzoyan passed on the Prime Minister’s love and congratulations, the latter was not even aware of the festivities and could not have sent any congratulations or wishes. Moreover, judging by Pashinyan’s note, he was angry because of not knowing about it, promising to “find and punish the guilty.”
