According to the report published by US intelligence services, Russia has tried to spread unreliable information related to the use of chemical weapons in Syria, convincing the international community that Bashar Assad has nothing to do with the chemical weapons use.
According to the report, Russia first denied the fact of chemical attack, considering all the proofs fake, and later announced that the airstrike targeted the rebels’ warehouses which contained chemical weapons.
According to the US intelligence services’ report, there are inaccuracies in this information. In particular, according to the claim by the Russian side, the bombing took place from 11:30 to 12:30 on April 4 while the first information about the incident was received at 7 am the same morning.
Besides, it is claimed in the report that there are satellite photos which show that the airstrikes targeted the road rather than structures (warehouses). According to the American side, Bashar Assad’s forces aimed to stop the advancement of the rebels in Hama.
Thus, according to the aforementioned report, Russia has enacted its propaganda machine in order to mislead the international community and lift charges of assault organization from Assad’s shoulders.
