Yesterday Tert.am news website published the number of soldiers who died in the Armed Forces of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh). According to the publication, 26 soldiers have died, 12 out of which were killed by enemy fire, and 14 due to other accidents.
Though the media outlets cite Defense Ministries of Artsakh and Armenia, as well as the data published by the RA Investigative Committee, the information does not fully reflect the reality.
In particular, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office (HCAV), which has been carrying out monitoring of losses in the Armed Forces for years, has registered deaths of 29 servicemen, 12 out of which are non-combat and 18 are combat losses.
In the material published by the media outlet, information is missing regarding the deaths of Gurgen Sargsyan (born in 1987), Sargis Apinyan (born in 1998) and Armen Tsaturyan (born in 1986), which have been left out from the official statistics.
Detailed information will be published about the deaths of these three soldiers in the regular report by HCAV.
