On June 18, MP from Bright Armenia Faction addressed a question to Vahe Grigoryan nominated for the position of Constitutional Court Judge about working in the Military Prosecutor’s Office in Artsakh parallel to serving in the army.
“To be honest, I went a little further and tried to find your appointment documents. And I came across a document signed by Robert Kocharyan in 1999, a document on suitability as prosecutors. It turned out it was a promotion list. That is, you already had a promotion in 1999…” Gorgisyan stated.
The MP also added that there is also the name of a Misha Grigoryan in the list.
“If I am not mistaken, Misha Grigoryan is your father. Did your father help you in these extraordinary achievements being part of the system?” Gorgisyan added.
Vahe Grigoryan said that his father was a [construction] worker and his mother is an accountant.
“That Misha Grigoryan has nothing to do with me… I don’t know what list you are talking about. I cannot be in any prosecutor promotion list” Grigoryan stated.
Fip.am studied the documents cited by Gorgisyan and revealed that the MP has manipulated facts.
Searching Arlis.am legal information system, we found two decrees signed by RA President Robert Kocharyan. The first one was on approving the 1999 list of suitability as prosecutors, and the second one was on approving the 1999 list of promotion of prosecutors.
Gorgisyan cites suitability list in his speech, which really contains the name of Vahe Misha Grigoryan (N 103). However, this list has nothing to do with the prosecutor promotion list, as Gorgisyan claims. We have already noted that on the same day the president signed a separate list of promotion of prosecutors, which does not contain Vahe Grigoryan’s name. Thus, Gevorg Gorgisyan’s statement does not correspond to the reality.
As for the name of Vahe Grigoryan’s father Misha Grigoryan in the list, this is false as well. The father’s name of Misha Grigoryan mentioned in the list is Garegin, while Vahe Grigoryan’s grandfather’s name is Sergey.
It is noteworthy that Aysor.am website has published the document cited by Gevorg Gorgisyan, writing that, after a short examination of Arlis.am website, they found the decree signed by Robert Kocharyan in 1999, according to which the 103rd number in the prosecutors’ promotion list is the candidate for Constitutional Court Judge Vahe Grigoryan. Thus, the website also manipulated information, presenting the suitability list as a promotion list.
